Filling a Need

Mental health therapy is a tool to relieve or heal mental illness or disorder. Each therapy focuses on developing strategies and methods to manage emotions and feelings, and by extension one’s self in shifting environments that may be out of a person’s control.

Opioid Loss, Grief & Recovery

Loss of a loved one through addiction to opioids is unfortunately common. Due to the social stigma of addictions, people with this kind of loss may not have the same social supports as others. Counseling aims to support you on your journey in this strange new landscape of grief. The clients will be working toward gaining the strength to carry their grief. You will not be asked to "get over it and move on."

Adult Group Sessions: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
Two Saturdays per Month, 6PM – 7PM. Groups forming now. (Contact for Details)
Inmate & Society Re-entry Sessions: Every Monday
Weekend Therapy: By Appointment (Contact for Details)

Returning Citizens Therapy

People returning from prison and re-entering society face a unique set of challenges. Everything from employment opportunities to family relations may have shifted, ended or altered. How do you respond to this new environment? How do you react to innocent daily situations “on the street” without the prison mentality getting in your way? How do you recognize and walk through your interior landscape now that you are a “stranger” in a familiar land? This groups focus is on finding our feet and re-learning how to walk in freedom.

Transition Therapy

We all have times in our lives where change is forced upon us. Sometimes, this is recognizing that one season in our life is over and another can begin. Often this means we must do both an internal and external editing of ourselves and our stuff in order to make room for the new or different.
To grow, room must be made. Transition Opportunities therapy helps in both arenas. This means you can access individual counseling sessions for the internal processes and we would arrange partial/whole day sessions for sorting, editing and permission giving to let go of what is no longer working or does not fit in to the new future you are creating for yourself.

Find direction in life

Living with Purpose

The primary goal of therapy is to 1) help empower someone to meet the personal and emotional challenges they face throughout life, 2) learn how to live their best life, and 3) overcome the mental difficulties and disorders that affect a person’s daily life. There are many mental health concerns that people can overcome with therapy. However, not all mental illnesses are curable. For these illnesses, therapy helps provide patients with coping mechanisms to control and live with a specific illness.

Before starting therapy, a person should consider what outcomes they want to achieve. It is important to understand and commit to the goals and objectives someone seeks. It provides the counselor with an understanding of the patient’s purpose and gives direction and a goal for the counselor to move toward. It allows each session to be meaningful and impactful. If a goal is unclear, a counselor can help work toward clarity. Then, together, they can chart a course that best serves the interests and goals of the patient.
